Religion and Political Correctness
Primarily, I am deeply grateful that in celebrating Christian holidays, a tacit recognition exists that we are a country based upon Judeo-Christian beliefs and morals — and that, in and of itself, is enough for me. We are brothers and sisters who share the same Ten Commandments, the same belief in tolerance, and the mutual respect that comes from a common heritage in a shared Old Testament.Veterans Day Address to the Younger Generation
I imagine that a lot of you are sitting in this auditorium thinking "Here I am having to sit through a ceremony watching a bunch of grey haired old people on stage, - guys with canes, and walkers and wheelchairs, and older women in ancient uniforms.Dr. Sam currently serves as a technical advisor to the Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC), an advisory body to the US Department of State, Bureau of Diplomatic Security - and as an executive on the Board of Directors for Vets Helping Heroes, a 501(c)3 charitable organization which provides service dogs for our wounded veterans who have suffered combat physical or emotional injuries. He is also serves on the Advisory Council for Voices United for Veterans which seeks to alleviate homelessness among our veterans.
In 2007 Dr. Bierstock was awarded the prestigious George Washington Honor Medal, Freedoms Foundation for responsible citizenship for his work in honoring our aging veterans of WWII, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War.
